Phenolic profiles and biological properties of traditional Phyllanthus amarus aqueous extracts used for diabetes

For the first time, a complete study, including fresh and dried aerial parts of Phyllanthus amarus was performed using Guadeloupe's population traditional extraction methods. In this antidiabetic antioxidant activities P. infusion decoction in water with short boiling were evaluated glucose-6-phosphatase enzyme H4IIE hepatic cells inhibition stimulation glucose uptake C2C12 skeletal muscle cells, as well 2,2-diphenyl-1picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity ferric reducing power assays. A compound, caffeoyl hexaric acid, tentatively identified for time extracts, UHPLC-HRMS. Only extracts exhibited strong similar to that insulin an increase 23%. The material appeared be best way maximal anti-hyperglycemic 55.8 ± 2.61% inhibition.
